Gentle rolling waves against a river bank
Were the only sounds that
could be heard
Once again their picnic was over
Folding the blanket not
uttering a word
The evening they had spent was pure delight
Beneath moss laden trees of green
Vowing to one another that they would
return
To share the greatest love ever seen
Strolling hand in hand
down a secluded path
Stopping briefly for a kiss and an embrace
Recalling
their first romantic interlude
As their hearts pounded and began to race
Their days became clouded with confusion
Needing two incomes as
husband and wife
Each longed for their stressful days ending
To return to
a romantic family life
Their times had not always been
blissful
Encountering problems from day to day
Now they asked if their
love would survive
Only the good Lord above could say
No longer
spoken were the words 'I love you'
Or I miss and long to hold you near
Knowing the flame was now flickering
Losing one another was their
greatest fear
On a summer afternoon they decided to talk
To discuss
where their love had gone wrong
Their timing could not have been
better
As over the waves came their wedding song
The special words
each heart did now hear
As they held out their hand to each other
Knowing
exactly what it was they must do
Picnic basket and once more become
lovers
That evening came alive with a full smiling moon
And the
sparkle of the stars from above
Shadows danced merrily throughout the
woods
As they joined the happy couple in love
