Another Day The tapping of rain upon my window Woke me from a much needed rest And as I threw back the covers I hurried down the hall to my desk Stopping for a minute in my kitchen I turned on the coffee pot to drip After all I couldn't face the morning Without one or two cups to sip No sound came from my computer room For it appeared to be much the same And reaching over I booted it up Waiting patiently to see the names The screen comes alive with visions Of user name and password please And signing in as each email waited I wondered will the spam ever cease I search through each letter carefully Stopping long enough to refill my cup Making myself a bit of breakfast And going outside to feed the pups My day is spent searching many pages And building and maintaining websites Trying to write a few lines of poetry As I wonder what will I cook tonight If it wasn't for the technology of today Some of my friends I wouldn't have met And although we aren't face to face Our time on this earth isn't over yet So now as the evening shadows fall I thank the good Lord above For giving me another blessed day And for all the dear ones I love Janie Moser © 08/16/05 I build and maintain web sites at reasonable and affordable prices.
