Many long years anxiously she had waited
Just for a little one to call her very own
And as the blessed time had now arrived
She knew no longer would she be alone
A tiny baby to hold and shower with love
Filled her dreams each and every night
As she longed to cuddle a little bundle
And sing a lullabye as she held it tight
Each doctor she had seen gave little hope
That she would ever beable to conceive
But she knew they were all so very wrong
As in her heart she continued to believe
Years slowly had passed and still not a child
Had been sent from the good Lord above
Although she continued to pray at night
Crying and pleading for a baby to love
Then one night a strange thing did happen
As she was watching the late hour news
They spoke of a child that was abandoned
And a mother's identity they had no clues
An innocent little one wrapped all in pink
Had been found in a dirty garbage pile
And had been taken to the local hospital
To be monitored and to stay for awhile
Listening closely to what they had to say
She wiped the tears from her brown eyes
As she questioned why this had happened
She pleaded, 'Dear Lord hear my cries'
Days passed by and no one had come forth
To claim the tiny baby wrapped all in pink
And it was then that she knew God's answer
As her heart now found the missing link
Early in the morning she hurried downtown
And with trembling hands did quickly sign
The papers to adopt the tiny little baby
As she placed her name on the dotted line
A woman's prayers had finally been answered
As she now has someone to cuddle and love
She has the child she so desperately wanted
And she knows it was sent from our God above
No, this lady never conceived her little baby
But the Lord works in many mysterious ways
So don't give up on what you truly believe
Or your blessing you may miss this very day
