This morning while sitting upon my porch
I looked upward into the distant sky
And such a great beauty of God's work
Was amazingly displayed before my eyes

Soft splashes of pale blue were painted
Such as that upon a vast canvas of art
And white fluffy pillows of clouds
Built a stairway in which to depart

Gently upward the mountain peaks did reach
Anxiously trying to touch and embrace
Just a part of this magnificent beauty
That spread across the enormous space

Tree tops with shades of golden leaves
Lifted their branches far and wide
Beckoning to all the birds in flight
Come rest and there peacefully abide

Words were softly whispered in a breeze
Sending a message it was time to sing
As the summer season was finally over
And cool weather our Lord was to bring

Continuing to gaze at the gorgeous sight
I realized I had lost all track of time
As the sun was moving toward the horizon
And soon it's rays would no longer shine

Sadly the time had come to return indoors
And rising I gave our God all the praise
For the magnificent work of his creation
As my hands to the Heavens I did raise

A beauty such as this is often overlooked
As we go through life busy as a bee
I myself never witnessed God's paintings
Until I moved to the state of Tennessee
