Earthly Wonders
A gentle breeze rustled through the leaves
While I lay on the fresh mowed lawn
And as I watched the billowy clouds above
I stretched and began to yawn
There I marveled at God's greatest gifts
That He bestow upon the world to see
The butterflies with all their beauty
And the soft humming of the bees
How can the existence of God be in doubt
While we gaze at the wonders of his work
The miracles that He has presented to us
As He continuously quenches our thirst
I continued to watch the wondrous sites
And listened to the beautiful sounds
It seemed as though they talked to me
For there wasn't anyone else around
For years I had lived in a fast pace life
Not taking time to think or care
Just where all this beauty came from
Until one day I met someone who shared
She told me of all the wondrous things
That our God could do for me
All the beautiful things he created
And wanted the whole wide world to see
I never knew there was such a love
As a peaceful feeling flowed into my soul
She explained how he created the world
And it was the greatest story ever told
The light slowly faded in the shadows
As I rose from my peaceful place
A magnificent day was coming to an end
All because of God's most precious grace
If you've never stopped to look or listen
At the sites and sounds in the air
Set aside a minute of your busy life
For God created them and wants to share
