My Golden Hours With Michael
Days, weeks, and ten years have passed
Since that warm and fateful summer day
In which the Lord called him to Heaven
Although we begged pleaded and did pray
It's not been easy to deal with the loss
Of such a handsome and tiny young child
A little boy that had just turned seven
And could steal your heart with a smile
Great affection was evident in his face
Big brown eyes would sparkle and shine
As he ran giggling through the backyard
With the speed of a great big old lion
Joyful sounds of excitement were heard
As in his pool he would shout and play
Splashing each person that walked by
And watching to see just what we'd say
Sitting on a beach with the sun so hot
Many times his swimsuit would fall down
But always he would laugh as he did run
Not once displaying the look of a frown
Together we spent many priceless hours
And no amount of money could ever buy
The love that he did bestow upon us
Winds echoing his laughter to the sky
The thirteenth of June he had no fear
As he escaped the safety of his yard
Disappearing from all that did search
And praying that he'd not gone to far
Then the call came his body was found
In a pond that was eight feet deep
And just why he'd went there that day
Is his secret that he will always keep
A presence is felt each day in our life
As with his angel wings he does fly
And we know he watches over each of us
Wishing that for him we would not cry
The memories of my grandson I do share
And all the blessings to us he did bring
Remembering a little boy name Michael
As to seven short years we so dearly cling
