Happy Anniversary

It was a cool and crisp December night
The year was nineteen seventy nine
When a shy young lady approached his door
And asked if a sock he did find

As a father of three small daughters
He slowly opened up his door
Not believing what she was asking
Was she possibly wanting more?

As a strong attraction drew them close
Both knowing they had fallen in love
Some said it wouldn't last very long
Others a blessing from above

They married in the year nineteen eighty one
Friends and family they had all gathered
A day filled with much laughter and fun
But it was only their love that mattered

As their days were spent apart
Their nights were filled with love
They both knew in their hearts
They were blessed from up above

And as the years slowly did past
The children had little ones of their own
Blessed by many grandchildren
Their love still made a home

As she lovingly looked back
Over all the years that had passed
Could it now be twenty four years
And some said their love wouldn't last

This is a true story as to how I met my husband David

We both lived in an apartment complex and we had washed and dried clothes at the same time in the apartment laundromat.

As I folded clothes we noticed we had some socks missing so I went to his apartment asking if he had found any in his laundry

We will be married twenty four years on
February 14, 2005
