Hello Darlin' They were very young when they first met Just barely in their teens He caught her eye right away Gosh he looked good in his jeans There was something about this boy That made her see him in her dreams Could it be his big brown eyes That sparkled with a gleam They were together every chance they had Soon to realize they could not be apart He was considered a bad boy by some Oh but not in her heart He moved away to another town Her heart it did break She loved this boy so very much How much could she take Years went by and she heard he had wed It broke her heart in two She decided to go on with life And she got married too Each had gone their separate ways But she thought of him forever She hoped he still felt the same After all he was her first lover The years have come and gone No word did she hear Then one day as if a miracle Her darlin did appear He asked how she was doing He had been crying all night long He wanted to say he was sorry For he had done her so wrong He held her in his arms for hours They talked about the past They danced the night away Why did their love not last To soon the morning appeared They had been here all night long They vowed they would meet again one day But for now she had to go home Several months passed without a word Was this just another one of his tricks Then she got a fatal call He had been found in a ditch He had been drinking that night Like so many other times before He was speeding down the road Should she go see him at the morgue She looked back on the years that passed Remembered his last words He said if she would forgive him He would be waiting for her This story may be read by many Then again only by a few I loved this boy so many years ago He knows this is the truth Janie Moser © 2005 *I build and maintain web sites at reasonable and affordable prices.
