Here's To The Good Life

Finally the work week had ended
Van was loaded and ready to depart
For their trip on up to the mountains
To a cabin they embraced with their heart

Many days had been spent in confusion
As they both had a job to attend
And two little girls they did care for
With scrapes and bruised hearts to mend

The van came alive with great music
As happily they traveled on their way
Even their faithful dog Ginger
Knew the beginning of an exciting day

The gasps of wonderment filled the air
While they viewed the breath taking sites
A place where one only dreams about
And a wish for with all your might

As a gentle breeze whispered its welcome
They quickly unlocked the door
And from the warmth that filled the cabin
Flowed love and so much more

A family that had a sense of adventure
On a treasure hunt during the day
They hiked and marveled at all the sites
And in their hearts they wanted to stay

The sky came alive with sparkling stars
While a meal just prepared on the grill
In the air the sounds of nature they heard
As they ate till their tummy's were filled

The water in the hot tub was warming
And the wine had been amply chilled
Even the children would raise a glass
With grape juice their glasses to fill

A toast was then made in the hot tub
Mom and Dad and their two little girls
'Here's to the good life my loved ones'
As the water in the tub softly swirled
