I Fall To Pieces
A warm breeze scattered the falling leaves
As happy couples strolled hand in hand
It seemed she had sat there for hours
In an attempt to reconstruct future plans
Her heart now lay shattered in pieces
As she paused to glance back at her life
After being told by a husband she loved
He wanted another to take for his wife
How could he turn and just walk away
After all in life they had shared
Long dreamy nights filled with love
Were a memory as he no longer cared
Could she start anew and forget him
As he was suggesting for her to do
Mountains of love she strongly cherished
Embedded in a heart that's broken in two
She must find the courage to continue on
And try hard to make a brand new start
But all she could feel was betrayal
Realizing their life was split apart
Her day was now filling with darkness
And too soon the sun would be gone
With one last sigh she rose to her feet
Knowing this night would be very long
