Two Easter Bunnies For Jennifer

Several years ago I had two rabbits given to me and the other day I decided they had sat in my closet long enough and I would give them away.

I was on my way to San Antonio to visit the hospital and called Jennifer which she is like a daughter to me, and told her I was going to come by her house.

Since it was close to Easter I was going to bring two rabbits to her instead of a couple of chickens. I then hung up the phone and was on my way.

Now when I was about halfway there she called me back and asked me if I really was bringing two rabbits. I said "Yes I am bringing two and they were not hungry and had not pooped at all on the trip".

When I arrived at her home she was working and so was her husband Jim. The kids called and told her I had arrived.

In a few minutes she called back and told her son to see if I had two rabbits with me and if so to get a pet carrier and bring them in the house.

I told her son that we would leave them in the truck until she got home as they had been fed and could stay right where they were.

After a while her husband Jim Jorrie came home and I told him what I had done. He said "gosh T.C. she is in a tizzy and thinks you are lying to her about those two rabbits".

Well, about that time she called to see if he was home and she asked if I had the two rabbits. He said, "yes he sure does".

"I can't give them away because they came from T.C." she said, "so we have to get wire and material and build a place from them to get feed and stuff".

She wanted to know how I had hauled them to her house and her husband told her I had them running loose in my truck. We had caught them and put them in the bedroom and closed the door.

She came home with a bad look on her face worrying about those two rabbits peeing and pooping in her bedroom. Jim took her by the arm and brought her to look at them telling her how beautiful they were.

When she got to the bedroom door she opened it and saw these two stuffed rabbits standing looking at her and she almost fainted from joy.

The picture above is Jennifer Jorrie and her two Easter bunnies. She is still telling friends and family how I played this trick on her. I love her like a daughter.

Oh yes, another true short story from Tom C. Lee still playing pranks even in his adult years.
