Kiss Me Cowboy

A cool chill now filled the wintry air
As snowflakes lightly touched her face
Slowly he climbed down from his horse
And her heart began to race

At that moment she paused alone in thought
What had caused him to catch her eye
Was it the way he had looked at her
Back in the hot humid month of July ?

Why was she now living in this frigid town
She never would have come here before
Knowing in her heart it was this cowboy
For he was the one she did adore

A shy young woman of only eighteen
She vowed his heart she soon would win
And as she reflected back to this time
Just how many years had it been ?

The snow was now falling more heavily
Soon the moon would be her only light
Still she continued to watch him
Longing for this cowboy to hold her tight

Slowly she climbed down from her perch
Where she had sat on a creaky ranch gate
She decided she better talk too him
For soon it might be 'too' late

As she shyly made her way to approach him
He gave her his very best smile
How long had she been watching him
She knew it had been quite awhile

Now her steps were drawing her closer
Soon she would be next to his side
His heart began to beat faster
As his love he tried hard to hide

She now was standing next to him
Her hair was dusted with the snow
He held her tightly in his arms
Knowing this time she wouldnt go
