Lady Of Mystery

Times I recall from 'only' late October
When rumors will circulate the town
From deep dark swamps in south Louisiana
Yield secrets that cause many to frown

A woman that many only know by name
Will seek a man to call her own
Caring not as to his appearance
Her looks would chill you to the bone

Long dirty dark tangles of matted hair
She creeps through the swamps at night
Hoping to find some poor lost soul
To take home while holding him tight

An evil voodoo witch is what some say she is
Seeking to destroy the souls of men
Although once she was a creature of beauty
Till she suffered from abuse filled with sin

Living in deep murky waters of the swamp
Amongst alligators, frogs, and the snakes
Lurking in the darkest shadows of the night
Waiting for any mans life to take

Men have traveled to the mysterious waters
To catch a glimpse of her evil ways
Some were fortunate to escape unharmed
While others were captured and had to stay

Something about the eerie month of October
Could it be the changing of the seasons
Why does she seek revenge only then
What could be this evil witch's reasons

Men beware she is searching for you
And Halloween is her favorite night
Listen for sounds of ghosts and goblins
And a face that will cause you much fright

Be cautious when traveling along the swamp
The night of Halloween is drawing near
Black cats and evil doers are lurking
Waiting in shadows to cause you fear

The old voodoo witch is patiently waiting
Hungry to catch herself another man
Could this be just a silly old rumor
It's October and Halloween is at hand
