We Were Meant To Be Together

Joyce and Charlie

One Tuesday in November of 1998, I was in my normal chat room when, suddenly something went wrong and I was booted out and into another. As soon as I went into the other room I saw someone write, "I’m from "Winfield, Alabama". Since I had just been in Winfield the previous week I spoke to joycee5 and found her to be a nurse and a lady.

We had a nice conversation where she told me she had met someone online that she cared for very much and was meeting him that Friday in Birmingham for the first time. We parted company and I thought no more about it.

On Thursday evening I was back in chat and was suddenly booted into another room again (not the same room as the first time, either). There, surprisingly was joycee 5. I spoke to her and she sent me a private message asking if I would give her my phone number so she could call me. I did and she did.

However, she was crying her eyes out when I answered. Seems the man had called her and told her he changed his mind and didn’t want to meet her after all. I told her we were about equal distance from Tupelo, Mississippi, and asked if she wanted to meet me in the huge mall there for lunch on Friday . She said yes and a time was set.

We had a great time in Tupelo, including taking a tour of the home where Elvis was born. As it grew late, we left to go to our homes not knowing if we would ever see each other again.

On Sunday I was online and talking about golf with a man I had never met before. We chatted for over an hour when, suddenly he said: "My mom wants to know if you want to come to our house for dinner".

Yep, I didn’t know it but it was Joyce's son with whom I had been chatting. She had walked past the computer and saw that he was talking with me. I said yes and he gave me direction to get there.

I went and we had a great meal and really enjoyed each other’s company. When it was time to leave we made a date for the next weekend to go to the big flea market in Florence, Alabama. I met her in Florence and again had a wonderful time.

We have now been together nearly eight years and love each other very much. We plan to be together as long as we both live since we agree that "We Were Meant to be Together".
