Michael Todd Festino
June 11, 1990 - June 13, 1997
This page is dedicated
to our
grandson Michael Todd.
My name is Janie and my husband is David.
Michael
is
our oldest grandchild , he was born June 11,
1990.

When we got the phone call from our
daughter Angie that he
had arrived
I
can't begin to tell you how proud and happy we
were. Michael was so precious and loving.
Seven years later on June 13, 1997 we
received another call from his mother ,
but this
one devasted us and our world fell apart.
Michael
had drowned in a pond in the subdivision they
lived in. A terrible accident that crushed
the
lives of all that knew him.
How could this
be?
We
had just seen him two days before on his seventh
birthday.
This could not be real! We
rushed to be with our daughter and
son-in-law.
How could this happen? Not our
Michael!
We went
through the motions of living , all the while not
understanding, Why?
Michael is a child
that if you met him once you would never forget
him. He is special to us. Sure there are
other
grandchildren, but words can't explain how we
feel about Michael.
We have such great
memories of him, like the summer he spent two
weeks with us here in Houston, seven hours away
from his parents. The many times he chased us
around the yard with the water hose trying his
best to get us wet, all the while laughing so
hard he could hardly run himself. The way he
would
come and pat you ever so gently.
I'll
never forget the year we got him a four-wheeler
for his birthday and I rode on the back while he
drove.

The summer of 96 Michael and I climbed
trees in his backyard and played on the slip and
slide me being 40 something sliding across the
ground as if I was as young as he was. We
sure
had alot of fun.
Memories, videos and
pictures, that is what we have now.
Michael was
an energetic little boy that would still be going
after we were all played out.
He loved dinosaurs
and would play for hours in front of the t.v.
watching his disney movies with his toys and I'll
never forget his love for playing with socks.
They fascinated him. He loved the Lion
King and wore the movie out watching it
The
Christmas of 1996 was our last with him.
 He
was
thrilled with his Woody and Buzzlightyear from
Toy Story. We will never forget how with
each
gift, as he opened it, you either heard WOW! or
LOOK! He was so excited. It was by far the
best
Christmas ever!
Michael has a little sister
named Danielle and he was so proud of her.
He
loved her and was glad to be her big brother.

Michael loved the beach, he loved playing in
the water, whether it be in a bathtub or in his
little pool in the backyard.

Who would have
thought that something he had so much fun with
would take him from us!
Why did it
happen? A terrible accident that is
what it was.
We are coping with help from friends and family.
If you are reading this, we want to thank you
for taking the time to stop by Michael's page.
Please pray for us that we may be able to cope
with this and accept it.
If you would have met
Michael,you would love him too!
This is Michael
Todd's page and he is missed and loved by all
that knew him. We will see him again one
day,
for he lives with Jesus now.
We are loving you
forever, Michael!

Dedicated For All Who Loved Michael
Most parents will never experience,
The joy that was given to us,
A child who's name was Michael,
Given by God in trust.
From the very first moment we held him,
Till the day God beckoned him home,
Our hearts seen a glimpse of Heaven,
But Michael was only on loan.
June eleventh nineteen ninety,
Was a day so many were blessed,
For Michael crept into the hearts of those,
Who were rewarded by knowing him best.
As a Mom and Dad we were soon to learn,
That Michael was sent to teach,
Love.. kindness.. and gentleness,
For all people whose life he would reach.
Michael had bubbled with energy,
That few other children could match,
When he drove his prized four wheeler,
You prayed there would not be a crash!
From climbing trees with grand parents,
To chasing with a garden hose,
Or playing with his favourite dinosaurs,
Watching Disney toward evening close.
Michael loved the beach with its sandy shores,
And the pool that was in the back yard,
Warm baths in the tub was fun time,
With his dinosaurs he would guard!
Too swiftly his final day did come,
June thirteenth nineteen ninety seven,
When the Lord could no longer be without him,
And Michael was returned back to Heaven.
Grief and sorrow shrouded so many lives,
Sounds of hearts could be heard while broken,
Questions of why mixed with anger,
Directed to God with questions were spoken.
We continue to learn as each day passes by,
How to live with the loss of our son,
Michael's sisters Danielle and Arianna,
With their presence the healings begun.

Fly Precious One
Fly, fly little wing
Fly beyond imagining
The softest cloud, the whitest dove
Upon the wind of heaven's love
Past the planets and the stars
Leave this lonely world of ours
Escape the sorrow and the pain
And fly again
Fly, fly precious one
Your endless journey has begun
Take your gentle happiness
Far too beautiful for this
Cross over to the other shore
There is peace forevermore
But hold this mem'ry bittersweet
Until we meet
Fly, fly do not fear
Don't waste a breath, don't shed a tear
Your heart is pure, your soul is free
Be on your way, don't wait for me
Above the universe you'll climb
On beyond the hands of time
The moon will rise, the sun will set
But I won't forget
Fly, fly little wing
Fly where only angels sing
Fly away, the time is right
Go now, find the light
