My Farewell Party
He sat alone in his cold prison cell,
The day would soon be here,
Now it seemed impossible,
That he'd been there twenty years.
He thought about his wife at home,
And did she love him still,
He also thought of all his friends,
Especially his oldest brother Bill.
It all took place on a cold dark night,
There had been a party at his home,
And when it all had ended,
He sat dazed and all alone.
What had happened on that night,
Made him stop and shudder,
He found his wife of just a year,
In the arms of Bill his brother.
His wife was pleading loudly,
And tears flowed from her eyes,
She cried, "Please don't do this"!
But he was tired of all the lies.
Soon the long wait would be over,
His life on earth was about to end,
Would he still have killed his brother,
Or would he do it all again?
Who would cry when he was gone,
He knew surely not his wife,
Why should he even care now,
He was soon to lose his life.
