One Year Anniversary

The date is January, two thousand six
And I cant believe this to be true
Just one year ago I started to write
Oh my, how the months quickly flew

It started out as just something to do
When I was alone and feeling sad
I never even thought about writing
Instead built sites for those that had

First I wrote "A Stranger In My House"
Just to see if possibly I could rhyme
I have to admit it wasnt very easy
And thought about giving up at the time

I had so much encouragement from friends
Such as Valentyne, Elaine, and KC
And of course Joyce, Tineke, and Carol
Said I would get better just wait and see

Once I decided to display my poetry online
I needed a name and graphic to find
Turning to Tineke a designer in Holland
Who is a great lady and friend of mine

She had the perfect pictures and colors
So I began to build my poetry site
Adding poems from my thoughts and dreams
Writing sometimes late into the night

Not once did I think my site would contain
The magnitude of poems it does today
There are even a few short stories I wrote
See Elaine, I did heed what you did say

So many people have acknowledged my site
Either by my guestbook or a short email
And you are my inspiration for writing
What this year holds only time will tell

Poetry From My Thoughts And Dreams will stay
Thanks to all who made it come alive
I love, appreciate, and thank you so much
Without you it would not have survived
