Howling winds heard late at night
As spirits danced in the frosty air
Silently hovering over every tepee
With such graceful, beautiful flair
Circling the land of an Indian nation
The foggy presence could be found
As a winter season came to an end
But snow still fell upon the ground
A strong chill could be felt by many
And they bundled tightly in their furs
The spirit joyfully continued to dance
For all knew each year this did occur
Changes were coming and so very soon
Warm winds from the south would blow
Flowers growing upon the mountain side
As the sunshine would abundantly flow
Young braves and maidens on a stroll
Quietly sneaking soft hugs and a kiss
Peeking around the bushes and a tree
Hoping their absence no one did miss
Clouds giving way to the skies of blue
As birds soar and sing a happy song
Of how cold weather was now over
And eggs would hatch before to long
Images of long ago were in the minds
As the tribe now recalled their past
Spirits sparkled with a glowing tone
Spring was now finally arriving at last
