Sweet Child Of Mine
She watched her child in wonderment
As she gently was swinging to and fro
Playing in the warm summer sun
For soon it would be time to go
Her little girl was only eight years old
With brown eyes that would sparkle
Her hair was dark ringlets and curls
A beauty that would make you marvel
Just a small little innocent girl
In her pink summer dress and hat
The mother continued to watch her
From the park bench where she sat
The girl always played independently
She seemed to like being alone
Even though she was very young
Her mind was bright and strong
This child at such a very young age
Had decided that she would dance
Her life would be filled with recitals
And always be willing to take a chance
The mother and child had talked for hours
Of just what she wanted in life
The mother only wanted the best for her
The child just taking life in stride
The mother's eyes filled with tears
Thinking of the years coming soon
As the time for her to leave
Would fill her heart with gloom
As little arms now reached out to her
The mother lovingly gave her a glance
She whispered softly in her ear
Forever dance my sweet little child dance
