Tears Of Depression

Such feelings of loneliness and depression
Flooded each dark corner of her mind
As her image reflected in the mirror
Showed the years had not been kind

Once she had been a very beautiful woman
That caused every man to stop and stare
As she walked down the busy main street
Holding her head high and with a flair

Now her eyes no longer bore the sparkle
As bright as the stars in the sky
But instead were sad, red, and swollen
From the time spent alone as she cried

Blonde highlights were replaced with gray
And no life did her hair now show
What once she took great pride to curl
Was now long as she just let it grow

Skin that was unblemished and baby soft
Without a wrinkle or a worried trace
Had been replaced with signs of aging
As lines appeared upon her elderly face

A body that all her friends once did envy
Was over weight and showed the pounds
And as she longed to be fit and slim
She tried every new diet that she found

Alone she now sits and faces the facts
She is no longer young and in control
But instead just another aging woman
With a sad story that needed to be told

Causes of depression can be many things
And this one I tried with you to share
A lady longing for her youth and beauty
Feels she is old, and you no longer care
