This Is The Day That The Lord Has Made

Waking this morning to a chill in the air
That soon gave way to a bright warm sun
I gazed upon my life of fifty eight years
And tried to recall the good that I'd done

Had my actions been as colorful as a rose
That glistened in the magical misty dew
Or was I seen to be sad and very tearful
And as I pondered this, I had not a clue

Our life should be joyful and great smiles
As the good Lord intended it should be
But sometimes obstacles darken our pathway
And we're blind to the things we can't see

Just look around and know he is beside you
Can you feel his presence in a cool breeze
And the beauty that is shown in the colors
As a blanket covers the ground with leaves

Do you know he is there watching each day
As the birds and insects gracefully fly
And who do you think created the mountains
With their peaks touching an endless sky

A bright glowing moon on a late dark night
Is the sign that he is lighting your way
As he wants to lead you down life's path
But I know many will frown on what I say

How can you look around you and not know
That our Lord is the creator of all things
For surely he has made this world for you
And only wants happiness in all he brings

So, if you woke this morning you're blessed
That God has given you a little more time
To search your heart for the true answers
And you might be suprised at what you find

Yes, this is the day that the Lord has made
So be happy and rejoice in all that you do
And know that when your life here is over
You'll live eternally above the sky so blue
