What Is The Meaning Of Love

The question of, What is love all about
Has been asked since beginning of time
The answer has been offered by many
From thoughts people have in their mind

Is love the tiny precious bundle of joy
You hold moments after their birth
A child sent down from heaven above
To bless you here on this great earth

Is love the tender words that are spoken
As you speak of how you two did meet
While the grandchildren gather 'round you
Listening ever so patiently at your feet

Is love the wet lick from your puppy
Comforting you when you are ill
Or could it be a wag of their tail
As they lay next to you very still

Is love waking up in one another's arms
And the early morning coffee you share
A kiss goodbye before leaving for work
Knowing tonight you'll both be there

Is love standing at the bedside
Of a friend you've known for years
Wishing you could ease their pain
As you wipe away your tears

Is love the feelings that do show
Between sisters and their brothers
The many laughs and silly teasing
As you closely hold on to each other

Is love the feeling God has for us
When he gave his only begotten Son
Was He crying in the Heaven above
When He proclaimed 'It Is Done'

I say love, is an eternal beauty
Lasting forever, an endless seed
Shared in hearts around this world
And one that we all surely do need
