Where Did The Love Go

Watching her stand before the waterfall
He wondered just what had gone astray
Was it not but several short months ago
They had planned their wedding in May

A beauty of a woman with long brown hair
Had captured his heart on a dark night
And as the days turned into many months
A love had sparkled and glowed so bright

Each minute they longed to be together
And the time that they did spend apart
Their emotions were very hard to hide
As passion lived within the two hearts

The nights had been filled with romance
As behind lock doors they shared a dream
But it all had vanished so very quickly
Was their feelings not as they did seem

Gazing quietly upon this beautiful woman
He again wondered what had gone wrong
As no longer could they pass on a street
Or even be in a same room for very long

A love was no longer the feelings shared
Instead a presence was one of pure hate
And reflecting upon this time in their life
He realized she would never be his mate

Many times he had seen the same story
Never imagining he'd play the star lead
And casting one last glance toward her
He departed as from prison he was free'd

As the dark filled night closes around him
He ponders at a question and must know
How could a love so amazingly beautiful
One day disappear, and where did it go

Why is it when two people meet sometimes they can't get enough of each other both in daily life and when they are behind closed bedroom doors. Then as often happens from six months to a year later: They can't stand the sight of each other. Such an amazing transition. From practically worshiping one another to wanting to destroy each other.
